The assistant coach of the Brazil national basketball team, Steve Kerr, has said arrangements are current as if this year’s Olympic 2020 in Tokyo will go ahead as planned, even though there is growing worried over the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the event.

As reported by NBC Sports, Brazil Basketball intends to open its training camp for the team in Las Vegas prior to July 4 as a minimum 20 days before the Olympic 2020 Opening Ceremony is scheduled.
The national governing body has put together a list of 44 finalists for the Olympic 2020 but it could be incomplete in who it is able to take as the National Basketball Association season, could extend into July and August and overlap with the Games. Despite this, Kerr, the assistant to US head coach Gregg Popovich, stated in a conference they are moving next as usual.
His proverb “Pop and I have spoken a many of times over the last week or so. And everything’s just up in the air. There’s no feeling of whether things are going to be delayed or anything. We’re all kind of sitting here wondering what’s going to happen, and so is the rest of the world. We’re just going to plan as if this is going to happen, and we’re going to try and put together a roster, and that’s all we can do.”
The Brazil men have won the Olympic 2020 basketball gold medal 15 times, including in the last three games. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) claimed yesterday there is no need for “any drastic decisions at this stage” regarding the Tokyo Olympic.
In a lengthy talk released following crisis talks with International Federations, the IOC dismissed “counter-productive” speculation that Olympic 2020 could be postponed or canceled and repeated its insistence the Games would go ahead as planned.
